Manthan Award 2014

Siyara won the Manthan Award 2014 : The Manthan Award is an annual award for South Asia given in recognition of exceptional digital content creation. Nominations are accepted from the public and multiple awards are given in many categories. Manthan Award is a first of its kind initiative to recognize the BEST use of ICT and digital tools to create holistic and comprehensive impact on people. Manthan Award is less about technology and digital media but more about the right use of the digital and technological tools. It (http://www.manthanaward.org) was launched on 10th October ‘2004, by Digital Empowerment Foundation in partnership with World Summit Award, Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India, and various other stakeholders like similar organisations engaged in promoting digital content inclusiveness in the whole of South Asian & Asia Pacific nation for development.

e-Swabhimani 2014 (The National Best e-Content Award)

Siyara won the e-Swabhimani 2014 (The National Best e-Content Award) under the e- Science and Technology category at the e-Swabhimani award Ceremony 2014. The e-Swabhimani Award offers a platform for all who value the creative use of ICTs and who are committed to making today’s information society more inclusive.

National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) 2013

Siyara won the overall gold award along with the research and development category gold at the National Best Quality Software Awards Ceremony 2013 held on 17th October 2013. The National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) competition is an annual event organized by the BCS The Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka (BCSSL) Section. The avowed objectives of the NBQSA competition are threefold: To provide recognition to outstanding achievements of individuals and organizations in Sri Lanka who/which have contributed to the development of ICT, to create a window to gain international recognition for locally developed ICT products and to improve standards and the quality of local ICT products and services to be able to compete in the international market place.

Asia Pacific Information and Communication Technology Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2013

Siyara represented Sri Lanka at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2013 held in Hong Kong, 2013.. The Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) is an international awards program which aims to increase ICT awareness in the community and assist in bridging the digital divide by providing networking and product benchmarking opportunities to ICT innovators and entrepreneurs in the region, the program is designed to stimulate ICT innovation and creativity, promote economic and trade relations, facilitate technology transfer, and offer business matching opportunities via exposure to venture capitalists and investors.

Technology Development Grant (2012)

The National Science Foundation, Sri Lanka awarded a grant (Rs 2.4 million) for this project to promote technology development and innovation for socio-economic development.
